WHAT: The City of Henderson invites the community to a free concert by Grammy award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater.
Founded in San Francisco in 1978 by singer and musicologist Louis Botto, Chanticleer is one of the most prolific recording and touring ensembles in the world -- selling over one million recordings and performing thousands of live concerts around the world. The Chanticleer repertoire is rooted in renaissance and has expanded to different genres including classical, gospel, jazz and more.
Chanticleer has received numerous awards, including a GRAMMY® for recordings of Sir John Tavener's "Lamentations & Praises" and "Colors of Love." Chanticleer is the recipient of the Dale Warland Chorus America Commissioning Award and the ASCAP/Chorus America Award for Adventurous Programming.
