A Qualifying Life Event  (QLE)

What is a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), you ask?  Each year you may change your benefit elections during the Open Enrollment period (November). Once you have made your elections, you may not change it until the next year's Open Enrollment unless you have a "Qualifying Life Event." This opens a special enrollment window for 30 days. Qualifying Life Events include:

• Marriage
• Divorce or legal separation
• Birth or adoption of a child
• Death
• Spouse losing or gaining coverage at their place of employment
